James M. Wood

I go by Mike and only use James for "legal" stuff. My father's first name is James so I was alway called Mike at home. I'm embarassed as to how little I wrote as compared to others, so here goes. I attended Napa College and managed to graduate in 3 years. Spent more time learning to play cards than go to class. Got a degree in Police Science, of all things. Became butcher for Alpha Beta in 72' and commmuted from Napa to Walnut Creek and there abouts. Married my wife in 77'. She had 3 children and we have been married for 32 years. We have a son, who just had his first child. This brings the total of grandkids to 11. I ended going back to school and getting a teaching credential for History. However, some one has to die before you get a class. Stumbled into Special Ed and went back and got a 2nd credential (which gave me enough credits for a Phd, without the pay). I also managed to become a Layspeaker for the Methodist church here in Dixon. I am allowed to preach only in the summers when most of the congretation is on vacation. Less damage done that way. I enjoy reading, ballroom dancing ) but have not been able to do much because my wife had foot surgery and was in an auto accident. Finally, hope to retire in 4 years and do some more traveling. My wife and I both enjoy cruising.

Can't think of too many school stories, other than enjoying the field trips and hiking with Mr. L's "science club.
